Established in 2012, Life Is Beautiful Photography is a professional maternity, newborn and portrait photography studio based in Little Bealings, near Ipswich, Suffolk.
There’s a lot that goes into creating a photograph that feels like you, and that starts long before the camera comes out.
With over 15 years of professional photography experience, every part of the process is handled with the same care, from planning your session and creating the little details, to photographing, editing and helping you choose how you want to enjoy your finished images.
Life Is Beautiful Photography is intentionally small and personal. There’s no large team behind the scenes and no passing your photographs from one person to another. Your session is planned, photographed and edited by Georgina, so the person you get to know throughout the process is the person behind your photographs too.
There’s also a real love for things that are made to last. Your photographs aren’t simply created to live on a phone or sit in a digital gallery. There are beautiful, handmade options for bringing your favourite images into your home, chosen with the same care that goes into creating the photographs themselves.
From the old train station studio in Little Bealings to the handmade details within your session, everything has been created with families in mind. The aim is for your time here to feel personal, enjoyable and completely yours, while giving you photographs you’ll still love looking at years from now.
And when it comes to choosing your photographs, there’s no awkward sales pitch or hidden costs waiting around the corner. Everything is explained clearly, so you can choose what feels right for you and your family.
The studio is based in the lovely rural village of Little Bealings, just outside Ipswich. Studio sessions take place here, while outdoor sessions are available at selected locations around Suffolk.
For outdoor sessions, travel within 10 miles of IP12 is included. Beyond this, a travel charge of 49p per mile applies.
The studio is open by appointment only, with sessions available 7 days a week, Monday to Sunday. Most sessions begin from 10am, with the final standard session starting at 2pm.
Newborn sessions always start from 10am, and only one newborn session is photographed each day. This allows plenty of time for your baby and means there is no need to rush the session.
Sometimes things don’t go quite to plan, and that includes getting poorly. The last thing anyone needs when having their photographs taken is to be worrying about feeling under the weather, so if you or one of the children is unwell, please get in touch before your session and we’ll look at finding another suitable date.
Your session can be rearranged within two months of the original booking, with no cancellation fee. Creative Fees are non-refundable, but every effort will be made to find a date that works for you within this timeframe.
And, just as families can get poorly, so can photographers! If illness or something unexpected means the session needs to be moved, you’ll be contacted as soon as possible and a new date will be arranged with you.
Every image is individually edited, with care taken over colour, tones, skin and all the little details that make the finished photograph feel just right.
Black and white versions are also created where appropriate, and at your viewing you’ll be able to decide whether you’d prefer particular images in colour or black and white.
Some newborn images may also include additional digital artwork. You’ll find examples within the newborn gallery.
Your photographs are usually ready to view around 1 – 2 weeks after your session.
Your viewing appointment is booked at the same time as your photography session, so there’s no need to wait until afterwards to find a suitable date. This is your opportunity to sit back, see your photographs properly on the big screen and choose the images and products you’d love to have.
Digital images are supplied as downloads, while wall art and other physical products are ordered at your viewing and usually take around 2 – 3 weeks to arrive.
Once your viewing has taken place, you’re also welcome to share your images on social media (and don’t forget to tag us too!)
Yes. Mini sessions, baby sessions and sitter sessions are all supplied through a private online gallery, usually around one week after your session.
Payment can be made by BACS or cash. Card payments are also available in the studio using the card machine. Unfortunately, card payments cannot currently be taken over the phone.
Yes. There is a carefully chosen range of handmade photographic wall art available, created by specialist UK framers.
There’s something rather lovely about seeing your favourite photograph become part of your home. Whether it’s a single portrait taking pride of place or several images displayed together, the aim is to create something you’ll enjoy seeing every day and that feels at home in your space.

Yes. Digital images are included with all portrait collections. The number of images included depends on the collection you choose. Full pricing and collection details are available in the relevant session guide.
Discounts aren’t something offered at Life Is Beautiful Photography. Each session is priced carefully to reflect the time, experience and care that goes into creating your photographs, from the planning right through to the finished images.
There may occasionally be something extra included with a particular booking or promotion, though, and whenever there is, it will always be made clear when you book.
Competition and raffle prizes can vary, so the details of what is included will always be clearly explained with the individual prize.
Your prize will cover the elements stated in the competition or raffle, with photographs and any additional products available to purchase separately if you’d like to choose some favourites to take home.

Most clients book shortly after their 20 week scan to ensure they have plenty of choice when it comes to available dates.
Maternity sessions are usually photographed between 28 and 36 weeks, when your bump is beautifully defined and you’re still comfortable enough to enjoy your session, move through different poses and relax in front of the camera.
Every pregnancy is different, so if you’re expecting twins or have been advised your baby may arrive early, it’s worth getting in touch sooner so we can plan the best time for your session.

Partners and siblings are always welcome and are encouraged to be part of your maternity photography experience.
We’ll create a lovely balance of family photographs alongside individual portraits, giving you a gallery that reflects this exciting time for everyone.
You’ll be able to choose from my collection of professional maternity gowns, carefully selected to flatter every stage of pregnancy.
You’re also welcome to bring your own outfits if you’d like to create a more personal look or include different styles during your session.
Before your appointment, we’ll discuss everything together so you’ll know exactly what to bring.
Of course – you don’t need any experience in front of the camera.
I’ll gently guide you throughout your session, demonstrating each pose and making small adjustments along the way. My aim is to help you feel relaxed so your photographs look natural and effortless.

Ideally after your 12 or 20 week scan so your due date can be added to the diary.
Newborns are best photographed within their first three weeks, when babies are often more settled and naturally curl into those newborn poses.
I allow up to 4 hours for every newborn session, although most are completed within around 2 hours. This allows plenty of time for feeding, changing, cuddles and settling without ever feeling rushed.
Yes absolutely. Parents, grandparents and siblings are always welcome to be part of your session if you would like them included. We can also focus purely on your baby if that feels right for you.
Newborn sessions are held at my studio in Little Bealings, near Ipswich, rather than in your home. The studio has been thoughtfully designed with newborns and families in mind, giving you access to everything needed for your session including a selection of wraps, outfits, props and styling options, along with a calm and comfortable environment for you and your baby.
No problem at all. Your session is planned around your due date and simply adjusted once your baby arrives.

Yes. You’ll have access to a carefully curated collection of wraps, outfits, blankets, headbands and styling pieces.
Of course. Family heirlooms, blankets and meaningful keepsakes make wonderful additions to your session.
Yes, your four-legged family members are welcome to be included in a photograph if you would love to capture this part of your family story. Please let me know beforehand so we can plan this into your session.
Please don’t worry, it’s much more common than you might think. Every baby is different, which is why I allow up to four hours for each newborn session. We’ll take everything at your baby’s pace, allowing plenty of time for feeding, cuddles and comforting. Some babies sleep soundly throughout, while others prefer to stay awake for part of the session, and that’s absolutely fine. We can still create beautiful photographs, whether your baby is asleep, awake or somewhere in between.
Absolutely. Photographing twins is a wonderful experience, and I love capturing the special bond they share from the very beginning. Twin sessions are planned with plenty of time, patience and flexibility, allowing us to work at a pace that feels comfortable for both babies while creating individual portraits as well as beautiful images together.
You don’t need to bring very much at all. I simply recommend bringing everything you would normally need for your baby while you’re away from home, such as milk or feeding supplies, nappies, wipes, a dummy if they use one, and any sentimental items you’d like to include in your photographs.
Absolutely. Your baby’s safety and wellbeing will always be my highest priority. Over the past 15+ years, I’ve undertaken specialist training in newborn posing and handling, following recognised safety guidelines at every stage of your session. I carefully monitor your baby’s comfort throughout, from making sure they’re well supported in every pose to checking their temperature so they’re never too warm or over-layered, particularly during the summer months.
Many parents also ask whether the studio flash is safe for newborns, and the answer is yes. The professional studio lighting I use is completely safe for babies and is designed specifically for portrait photography. It won’t harm your baby’s eyes, allowing us to create beautifully lit photographs in a safe and controlled environment.
Baby Sessions are ideal for babies aged between one and five months, before they’re sitting independently.
Once your baby is beginning to sit confidently, it’s the perfect time to get in touch. We’ll usually arrange your session a couple of weeks later.
You’re welcome to bring a few favourite outfits, and sitter sessions also include access to my carefully selected studio wardrobe.
Every session is completely baby-led, with plenty of time for cuddles, comfort and little breaks whenever needed.
Absolutely. Once you’ve viewed your online gallery, you can easily upgrade to one of the larger collections.
These sessions focus entirely on your little one. If you’d love family and sibling photographs too, my Family Sessions are the perfect option.
Cake Smash Sessions can be booked around your baby’s first birthday, whether you’d like to capture this special milestone before or shortly after their big day. If you’re hoping to use the photographs for birthday invitations, party decorations or celebration displays, I’d suggest booking around 4 – 6 weeks beforehand to allow plenty of time for planning, printing and organising everything.
Yes. Every Cake Smash Session includes a handmade birthday cake from my trusted supplier, and you’ll be able to take it home with you afterwards. Although it may look a little different after their cake smash adventure, it’s still perfectly delicious for the family to enjoy!
Gluten-free and egg-free options are available, and I’m happy to discuss any dietary requirements before your session. Please let me know when booking so suitable arrangements can be made for the cake and your little one.
You’re welcome to choose from the outfits in my studio collection or bring something special from home that reflects their personality. We’ll chat through styling ideas before your session and create a look that feels perfect for them.
Absolutely. We begin with birthday portraits, and parents and siblings are welcome to join for a few special family photographs before the cake smash begins.
Not every baby loves getting messy, and that’s perfectly okay. Some dive straight in, some carefully explore every crumb and some are much more interested in the balloons or decorations. There’s no right or wrong way to enjoy a Cake Smash Session, and I’ll capture all those wonderful little reactions along the way.
If you have a special cake in mind, please feel free to chat with me before your session. Otherwise, your handmade birthday cake from my trusted supplier is included as part of your Cake Smash Experience, ready for all the exploring, squishing and celebrating.
I don’t offer splash sessions after Cake Smash Sessions, as I prefer to focus on creating a beautiful collection of first birthday photographs rather than extending the session into another activity. This allows us to capture the portraits, personality and cake smash moments that make this milestone so memorable.
Around one to two weeks afterwards, you’ll return to the studio for your viewing appointment. This is your chance to relax, enjoy your finished images on the big screen and choose the collection that feels right for your family.
Absolutely. Your session can include grandparents and family pets too. For larger or extended family groups, please get in touch so we can plan the best approach for your photographs.
Neutral colours, soft textures and complementary tones work wonderfully together. The most important thing is choosing something you feel comfortable and confident wearing. I’m always happy to offer advice if you need help deciding.
Absolutely. Your session can include grandparents and family pets too. For larger or extended family groups, please get in touch so we can plan the best approach for your photographs.
That’s completely normal. Children don’t need to sit still or follow every instruction perfectly. I’ll gently guide the session while allowing space for their personalities and natural interactions to shine through.
If your child is unwell, please let me know as soon as possible. We can discuss the best option and rearrange your session if needed, so everyone is able to enjoy the experience. If you need to reschedule for any reason, please refer to my Terms and Conditions for details on cancellations and rearranged sessions.
Family Photography Sessions last one hour, giving us plenty of time to capture a varied gallery without anyone feeling rushed.
Family photographs can be created at any age, from newborn onwards. Whether you’re welcoming a new baby, capturing siblings together or updating your family portraits as your children grow, every stage is worth remembering.
If you’re looking for more traditional newborn-style images with wraps, props and carefully styled setups, these are photographed as a newborn session rather than a family session.
Popular dates can fill quickly, especially during weekends and seasonal periods. I recommend getting in touch when you know you’d like to capture this stage of your family, and we can find a suitable date.
You’ll be invited back to the studio around 1 – 2 weeks after your session for your viewing appointment.
Yes. Once you’ve viewed your gallery, you can choose the portrait collection that best suits your family.
I offer carefully chosen locations across Suffolk, including woodland, parks and beaches. If you have somewhere special in mind, I’d be delighted to discuss it.
The Legacy Collection is designed to begin with your maternity session and continue throughout your baby’s first year, so booking in advance gives us plenty of time to plan your sessions around your pregnancy, baby’s arrival and each stage of their development.
If you’re already expecting, I’d recommend getting in touch as soon as possible so we can look at availability and plan your journey together.
That’s completely understandable. Babies don’t always stick to the dates in our diaries!
We’ll plan your newborn session around your expected due date, then work together once your baby arrives to find the right date. The rest of your sessions can then be planned around their development and your family’s schedule.
Every baby develops at their own pace, which is why the ages given for the Baby and Sitter sessions are there as a guide rather than a rigid schedule.
We’ll work together to choose the right time for each session, making sure we’re capturing your little one’s personality and stage of development rather than simply following a date on the calendar.
The Legacy Collection has been designed as a complete first-year experience, with each session contributing to the story of your growing family.
Ideally, you’ll attend each session so we can document the year as it unfolds. However, we understand that life with a baby doesn’t always go according to plan, so if something unexpected happens, we’ll always discuss the best way to rearrange things with you.

Absolutely. The Legacy Collection includes a dedicated Family Session, created to capture the connection between you and your children as your family grows and changes throughout the year.
Your baby can also be joined by siblings or other family members during your sessions where appropriate, so we can create photographs that reflect the people who are part of their story.
If your little one is poorly or something unexpected comes up, don’t worry. Just let me know as soon as you can and we’ll look at the best way to rearrange your session.
With your sessions planned throughout the year, we’ll work together to find another suitable date that fits around your baby’s development and your family’s schedule.
For your maternity, newborn, first birthday and family sessions, you’ll return to the studio for a personal viewing appointment.
We’ll sit together and enjoy your finished photographs on the big screen, seeing your images come to life and watching your collection take shape throughout your journey.
Your included digital images are yours to keep, with no need to choose which images you’d like to purchase. You’ll also have the opportunity to choose your favourite photographs for your Legacy album and, if you’d like to, discuss any wall art you’d love to have in your home.
Your photographs are prepared throughout your journey as each session is completed.
For your maternity, newborn, first birthday and family sessions, you’ll first see your finished images during your viewing appointment. Your baby, sitter and seasonal mini session images are viewed through your private online gallery.
Your photographs will be available as your Legacy Collection payments reach each stage of the collection.* This means you can enjoy your photographs throughout your journey rather than having to wait until the entire collection has been paid for.
Once the relevant payment milestone has been reached, your gallery will be made available for you to view and access your included images.
Your photographs will not be uploaded to your online gallery before the relevant payment milestone has been reached.

If you’d like to add to your collection, you can purchase wall art throughout your journey. As part of your Legacy Collection, you’ll also receive £50 towards wall art from each full session type.
Your newborn session includes a beautiful keepsake box containing twenty+ 6×8 printed photographs and a USB.
It’s a lovely way to have some of those first photographs in your hands, alongside your digital images, and gives you something tangible to treasure from those early days.
Yes. You don’t need to pay for your entire Legacy Collection all at once.
A £500 deposit secures your collection, with the remaining balance payable through an agreed payment plan.
Whichever payment option you choose, your photographs will become available throughout your journey as your payments reach each stage of the collection.*

The Legacy Collection is designed to be booked during pregnancy, with your maternity session forming the first chapter of your journey.
If you’ve already passed the recommended timeframe for your maternity photographs, the Legacy Collection may not be the right option for you, as the maternity session is an important part of the collection and cannot simply be removed or exchanged for another session.
The Legacy Collection is offered as a complete collection at £2,375, so the price remains the same even if you choose not to have the maternity session.
